Virginia (Lund) Upton-Carisella of Topsfield, formerly of
Wakefield, departed this world quietly and in peace on May 1, 2015.
She was the wife of the late Pasquale Carisella and the late Johnny
Upton. Born in Portland, ME September 8, 1928, she was the daughter
of Ruth and Victor Lund. Her mother passed when Ginny was five years
old. Victor remarried and moved with his wife Elizabeth and Ginny to
Wakefield, where Ginny graduated from Wakefield High School in 1946.
She began her working career as a clerk at the Shawmut Bank in 1957,
and enjoyed a thirty plus year career and retired as a Senior Loan
Officer and Bank Vice President. She chose to return to the work
place two years after retirement, and worked for years at Fram
Corporation in Reading. Ginny moved to Topsfield where she lived for
six years with her daughter Donna.
She was the
beloved mother of Patricia Carisella of Albuquerque, NM, Donna Page
of Topsfield, and Dr. James Carisella and his wife Dianne LaVigueur
Carisella of New Orleans, LA, and he beloved grandmother of Stephen
Page of Gloucester, Zoe Lewis of Utah, Vanessa Carisella, MariThea
Carisella, Arianna Carisella and Olivia Carisella of New Orleans,
and the sister of Victoria Lund Simoneau of Lynnfield. She was the
grandmother of the late James (Jay) Carisella, formerly of New
Orleans.
A Memorial
Service celebrating Ginny’s life will be held Monday June 8 at 11:30
am in the St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Avenue, Wakefield. Family
and friends will gather for lunch and remembrance following the
service. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Greater
