Thelma H. (Morrison) Humphrey

Thelma H. (Morrison) Humphrey, 85, of Main
Street, Essex, died Sunday, November 28, 2021 in her home following her
long illness. She was the loving wife of the late John D. Humphrey.
Born in Beverly January 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John and
Irene (Tarr) Morrison. Thelma was raised in Beverly, a graduate of Beverly
Public Schools.
Married in 1964 the Humphreys briefly
made their home in Beverly before moving to Marshview Road in Ipswich
where they raised their family. She has lived in Essex since 2006. During
the late 60’s she was employed as an X-ray technician at the former Cable
Hospital in Ipswich. She was later employed at the former Hill’s Men’s
Store in Ipswich and most recently as a lunch aide at the Doyon School in
Ipswich. As a young woman she was an avid runner and bicyclist. She will
be remembered as outgoing and very independent.
Thelma was a longtime member of the Ascension Memorial Church in Ipswich.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Humphrey of Beverly Hills, FL, David S.
Humphrey and his wife Deborah of Ipswich; two grandchildren, Max Humphrey
of Boston, and Keith Humphrey of NH. She was the sister of the late Frank
Morrison formerly of North Hampton, NH and Mary Trepanier formerly of
Hamilton. Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich.
