Terry R. (DeNapoli) Saporito, 67, wife of Ronald J. Saporito,
of Allen Lane, Ipswich, died Thursday October 9, 2008 in her
home following a long illness.
Born in Revere June 17, 1941, daughter of the late George W.
and Barbara DeNapoli, she was raised in Revere and was a 1959
graduate of the Fitton School in East Boston. She graduated from
the Malden Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. Married in 1964,
the Saporitos lived in Winthrop for two years before relocating
to Ipswich. She was employed as a RN at the former Hunt Hospital
in Danvers for forty-two years, retiring in 2004. A long time
parishoner of St Joseph’s Church and Our Lady of Hope Parish in
Ipswich, she was an active member of the Ipswich Catholic
Women’s Club. In retirement, she volunteered her time in the
outpatient department at Anna-Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. A
dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed home
gardening, family vacations in coastal Maine and loved to cook
for family and friends.
In addition to her husband of forty-four years she is survived
by a son, Michael Saporito and his wife Gail of Peabody; a
daughter, Laura Rubio and her husband Ernie of Merrimac; five
grandchildren, Aaron and Zachary Saporito both of Peabody, and
Emily, Phoebe and Nathan Rubio all of Merrimac; a brother
Anthony DeNapoli of FL; a sister, Sylvia Milanese of CO and
several nephews and nieces.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday October 14 at 8 am from the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed
by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Our Lady of Hope
Church. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery, Ipswich.
Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are
