Steven David Lambert “Big Steve”
Ewing, 23, died tragically Thursday December 15, 2011 after being
struck by a motor vehicle.
He was born on August 6, 1988 in
Gloucester and called Ipswich his home for the majority of his short
life. Steve was educated in Ipswich and graduated from Ipswich High
School in 2007.
Steve will be remembered by his
family and many friends for his sarcastic sense of humor and his
infamous smirk that could make any bad day brighter. He had a tough
exterior but his heart was kind with generosity and
compassion. Steve was a jack of all trades and was fondly known
around town.
Steve is survived by his parents
Dianne Souza of Ipswich and Thomas Ewing of Georgetown; his
siblings Paul Ewing and Katrina Ewing both of Ipswich; godparents
David H. Ewing of Texas and Victoria Elliot of New Jersey; his
grandparents Fredrick and Margaret Souza of Maine and JoAnn Ewing of
Ipswich and an extended loving family. He was the grandson of the
late David O. Ewing formerly of Ipswich.
His funeral service will be held 10
am Wednesday December 21, 2011 in the Ascension Memorial Church, 31
County Street, Ipswich followed by interment in the New Highland
Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
Visiting hours are Tuesday 4 to 8 pm in the Whittier-Porter Funeral
Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich.
