Sandra K. (Brokvist)
Poor, 69, wife of Clifford E. Poor of Avery Street, died Tuesday,
March 29, 2011 in her home following her long illness.
Born in Beverly
August 18, 1941, daughter of the late Henry V. and Ruth (Toothaker)
Brokvist, she was raised in Beverly and was a 1959 graduate of
Beverly High School. A 1962 graduate of Salem Hospital School of
Nursing, she was employed for twenty-nine years as a RN at the
Caldwell Nursing Home in Ipswich. Sandra enjoyed needlework,
knitting and cross stitching, home crafts and her annual family
camping trips in Hampstead, New Hampshire.
She was al longtime
member of the First Church in Ipswich.
In addition to her
husband of twenty-six years she is survived by five sons, Eric
Hudson of Goffstown, NH, Mark Hudson of California, Michael Hudson
and his wife Michelle of Leominister, James Poor of Texas and
Douglas Poor of Maine; three grandchildren, Katelyn, Bradley and
Ashley Hudson; a sister Susan Rollins of Beverly Farms, and three
nieces. She was the sister of the late Eric Brokvist, formerly of
Beverly.
Her funeral service
will be held Saturday, April 2, at 2 pm in the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and friends are
respectfully welcomed. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers
memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Ipswich Humane
Group, 17 Fowlers Lane, Ipswich, MA 01938.
