Ruth (Hovey)
Hamilton, 88, of Crosby, Minnesota, formerly of Ipswich, and
Rochester, New Hampshire, wife of the late Frederick Hamilton,
died peacefully at her home in Heartwood Senior Living Community
on Thursday, November 4, 2010.
Born on
May
10, 1922 in Ipswich, she was the daughter of the late George and
Blanche (Decker) Hovey. She was a graduate of Ipswich Public
Schools and the Salem Commercial School. During WWII she served
proudly as a WAVE with the U.S. Navy. For many years she was
employed by Sylvania and later Raytheon, from which she retired.
She enjoyed spending time with her family & friends.
She is
survived by her son Thomas Farrell and his wife Judy of Aitkin,
MN; daughter Sheila Davis and her husband Walter of Cape Coral,
FL; grandchildren Thomas Farrell, Daniel Farrell and his wife
Carissa, Walter Davis III and his wife Risa
& William Davis; and great grandchildren Levi & Noah Farrell.
She is also survived by her two brothers and their families,
Jere Hovey of
Newburyport,
and Donald Hovey of Rowley, and her sister-in-law Frances Hovey
of Ipswich. She was the sister of the late George Hovey,
formerly of Ipswich, and predeceased by her former husband,
Thomas Farrell.
A graveside
funeral service will be held Friday, November 19 at
2:00
pm in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Road,
Ipswich.
Family & friends are respectfully welcomed. Arrangements are
under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of
Ipswich.
