Robert D. Cram, 78, longtime
Ipswich resident, died Sunday November 4, 2012. He was the husband
of the late Phyllis Jane Cram.
Born in Millinocket, Maine to the late
Ernest V. and Katherine M. (Bradstreet) Cram, Bob earned his
engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology. Following graduation Bob married Jane and after service
in the Navy moved to Ipswich, where together they built a home. Mr.
Cram was employed as a mechanical engineer at United Shoe in Beverly
and High Voltage Engineering of Burlington. A member of the First
Church in Ipswich, Bob will be remembered for his design and problem
solving skills. He is survived by a sister, a daughter, three sons
and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 in the
First Church in Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully
welcomed. Visiting hours are Thursday 4 to 8 pm in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich. Interment will be
private. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church
Memorial Fund, 1 Meetinghouse Green, Ipswich, MA, 01938.
