Marjorie A. Dolan

Marjorie A. Dolan, 91, lifelong resident of Hovey Street, died Friday September 12, 2008 in the Caldwell Convalescent Home following her long illness.

Born in Ipswich October 30, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Dodge) Dolan and was a 1932 graduate of the former Manning High School. She went on to attend the Salem State College and North Shore Childrens Hospital School of Nursing where she trained in preschool education. For many years she owned and operated the “Small Fry Nursery” from her Hovey Street home from which she retired in the 1980’s.

She loved children. In addition to her nursery school  children she also  nurtured and help raise her nephews and nieces. She also enjoyed home gardening and  sewing for her family and friends.

She was a seventy-five year member of the First Church in Ipswich.

She is survived by a sister, Ruth Barrows and her husband Raymond of Ipswich, a nephew, David Barrows of Tampa, FL, two nieces, Cynthia Leshin of Sedona, AZ and Marjorie Barrows of Phoenix, grand niece Lisa Barrows of Tampa, FL, and three grandnephews Todd Haughton, Jesse Gaudette and Benjamin Gaudette all of Phoenix. She was the sister of the late  WWII casualty Edward L. Dolan .
