Marguerite Ann (Calnan) Giza

Marguerite Ann (Calnan) Giza, 73, wife of John Giza of Heartbreak Road, Ipswich, died Friday January 15, 2010 in her home following a long illness.

Born in Cambridge February 24, 1936, daughter of the late Francis and Anne (Antle) Calnan White, she was raised in Boston, attending public schools. For many years she was employed at Sylvania in Ipswich and for the past nine years has been employed as an administrative assistant at EBSCO Publishing in Ipswich.

Marguerite will be remembered as a loving, funny, amazing and  wonderful, wife, mother, friend, nana, sister and co-worker, whose kind and generous spirit embraced and strengthened all who knew her. We'll miss you Nana Bunny. You showed us that in the end, love is all that matters.

In addition to her husband John of forty years she is survived by two sons, Robert DeAngelis and his wife Patricia of Westwood, Steven Giza and his partner Lily Marshall of Seabrook, NH; four daughters, Robin Labolt and her husband John of Sycamore, OH, Dawn DeAngelis and her husband Richard Jeffrey of Lee, NH, Cori Trembowicz of Essex and Stefani Macklin and her husband Mark of Ipswich; fifteen grandchildren, Sarah, Katherine and Austin DeAngelis, Adam and Thomas Jeffrey, Alyson Messner, Lindsay Slate, Hunter and  Emily Labolt, Alan and Christpher Lemire, Zachary Trembowicz, and Chelsey, Hannah and Jack Macklin; four sisters, Catherine Sullivan of Duxbury, Anne Henry of Florida, Jane Casey of Randolph and Maryellen Callahan of Milton and many nephews and nieces.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, January 19, 8 am from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by a Funeral Mass 9 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are  Monday 4 to 8 pm. Interment will be in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to Lahey Clinic at www.lahey.org, Home Health VNA of Merrimack Valley at www.homehealthvna.org, and or Hospice of the North Shore at www.hns.org.
