Marilyn J. (Fogg) Tedesco, 78, of Portland,
Maine, wife of Theodore M. Tedesco, passed away peacefully,
after a long illness, surrounded by family at her son’s Ipswich
home on December 28, 2009.
Born in Sharon Massachusetts, the daughter
of Lester and Gertrude E. (Thompson) Fogg, she was a graduate of
the Boston University School of Music and studied at the Longy
School of Music and at the Tanglewood Music Center. She taught
music and piano, both privately and with the New England
Conservatory of Music Extension School and the Pingree School,
for over 40 years. An accomplished organist, Marilyn earned a
CAGO certificate from the American Guild of Organists in 2006
and played for many local churches in a career spanning over
four decades. She was also a successful realtor, having
operated Marilyn McLoon Real Estate in Damariscotta, Maine and
received the Maine State Realtor of the Year award.
In addition to her husband of sixteen years,
she is survived by three daughters, Lauren Moskowitz of
Georgetown, Amy Juneau of Saco, ME and Wendy Waterman of
Wallingford, PA; and by two sons, David McLoon of Ipswich, MA
and Christopher McLoon of Yarmouth, ME. Marilyn is also
survived by ten grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at St.
Luke’s Episcopal Church, 143 State St, Portland, Maine on
Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Cam Neely Foundation, 30 Winter
St., 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02108. Arrangements are
under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of
Ipswich.
