Lydia Maciejowski

 

Lydia Maciejowski, 84 of Cedarview Road, Ipswich, died Tuesday March 9, 2010 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following her long illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph Maciejowski who died in 1989.

Born in Russia December 13, 1925, she was raised and educated in a small village outside Minsk. Following the German invasion she and her family served for several years in a German labor camp. In 1952 she immigrated to the United States with her first husband. Following his death and her marriage to Joseph in 1963, the Maciejowskis made their home and raised their family on Cedarview Road. For many years Mrs. Maciejowski was employed as a production worker at the former Sylvania in Ipswich, later employed at I.D.Engineering and Senormatic Electronics in Ipswich. During many of these years she worked part time shucking clams for the local seafood industry.

She was a longtime communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church of Ipswich, later attending LaSalette Shrine of Ipswich.

She is survived by a son, Peter G. Maciejowski of Ipswich, and a sister in Russia.

She was the mother of the late Eugene Maciejowski.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday March 16, 11 am in the New Highland Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Monday         7 to 9 pm in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich.
