Linda L. (Carleton) Cronin, 69, of Pineswamp Road, Ipswich,
formerly of Wilmington, died Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the
Beverly Hospital.
Born in Melrose on November 14, 1946, the daughter of the late
Roy H. Carleton and Ruth (Carleton) Kaminski, she was raised in
Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield public schools. She
continued her education at Chamberlain Jr. College in Boston
where she received an Associates Degree. For several years she
was employed as a computer programmer at the former American
Mutual Insurance Company in Wakefield. Later and for much of
her life she was self-employed as a free lance folk artist.
In her addition to the fine arts, Linda enjoyed following all
the Boston professional athletic teams and spending time with
her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Britt A. Garland and her husband
David E. of Ipswich; two grandchildren, Landry M. and Campbell
L. Garland both of Ipswich; a brother, Stephen Carleton and his
wife Andra of Duxbury; a nephew, Jason Carleton of Ashland, and
her former husband, Edward J. Cronin of Wilmington.
There will be visiting hours Friday in the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich from 11 am to 12:45 with a
funeral service graveside at 1 pm in the New Highland Cemetery,
Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully
welcomed.
