Jean C. Lynch, 74, of
Newmarch Street, Ipswich, wife of Richard S. Lynch, died
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in her home following her long illness.
in Ipswich July 11, 1938, daughter of the late Irving and Eliza
(Poussard) Andrews, she was raised in Ipswich, a 1959 graduate
of Ipswich High School. Married that year the Lynchs made their
home and raised their family at her Newmarch Street address.
With a grown family Mrs. Lynch worked for ten years as a nurses
aide at the former Caldwell Convalescent Home.
was an avid Red Sox fan. She enjoyed home gardening and
knitting for family and friends. She was a lifelong communicant
of St. Josephs Church and Our Lady of Hope Parish.
addition to her husband of fifty-three years she is survived by
a son, Richard S. Lynch, Jr. of Ipswich; six daughters,
Elizabeth Mackey and husband Dennis of Hamilton, Theresa Lynch
of Ipswich, Caroline Lightbody and husband Louie of Florida,
Rose Lynch of Ipswich, Stephanie Lynch and her companion
Hector Rodriguez of Ipswich and Christine Lynch of
Ipswich ; seven grandchildren, Louie and Kevin Lightbody, both
of FL, Christopher, Jason and Steven Mackey, all of Hamilton,
Nathan Lynch and his wife Linzy and Jonathan Rodriguez, all of Ipswich, a brother,
Irving Andrews and wife Marion of Ipswich, two sisters,
Elizabeth Rathe’ of Ipswich and Donna Hopping and husband
Merritt of Springfield, and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am
Monday, August 27, in Our Lady of Hope Church, Linebrook Road,
Ipswich followed by interment in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery,
Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home of Ipswich. Memorial contributions in her name may
