Edna J. (Curran) Greene, 98, longtime of 215 High Street, Ipswich,
died Monday, December 10, 2007 in the Caldwell Skilled Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center following her long illness. She was the wife
of the late Paul W. Greene.
Born in Ipswich March 22, 1909 she was the daughter of the late
Daniel A. and Mary Ann (Chisholm) Curran. Raised in Ipswich she was
a graduate of Ipswich High School Class of 1927 and was a graduate
of the Salem Hospital School of Nursing. For forty years she was
employed as a registered nurse at the former Cable Hospital in
Ipswich from which she retired in 1974.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Church and Our Lady of
Hope Parish of Ipswich.
She is survived by a stepson, Alan Greene of Campton, NH; three
nephews, Attorney Daniel A. Curran of Adamsville ,RI, Father David
A. Curran of Danvers, Peter J. Foster of Manchester-by-the-Sea and a
dear friend, Maureen Rice of Ipswich. She was the sister for the
late Daniel A. Curran and Elizabeth Foster both of
Manchester-by-the-Sea.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday 11 am in
the Our Lady of Hope Church, Pineswamp Road, Ipswich. followed by
entombment in the Main Street Cemetery, Rowley. Family and friends
are respectfully welcomed. Arrangements by the Whittier-Porter
