Donald M. Laterowicz,
49, of Southern Manor, Ipswich, died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at his
home following his sudden illness.
Born in Ipswich June 1, 1960 he was one of four children of the late
Edward S. and Rita (Gallant) Laterowicz. A lifelong Ipswich
resident, he was a 1980 graduate of Ipswich High School where he was
on the track team, played varsity basketball and varsity football.
He was a proud member of the 1977 Ipswich High School Super Bowl
Champions. Continuing his education at the North Shore Community
College he later went to work for Ipswich Shellfish Company and
Ipswich Maritime Products. He also worked part time tending bar at
several local clubs.
Donald was an avid fan of New England professional sports and the
Ipswich and Georgetown High School football teams. He will also be
remembered by his friends as a devoted fan of the Beatles and the
Three Stooges.
He
was a member of the Ipswich Thaddeus Kosciuszko Club and the St.
Lawrence Literary Society where he had served as President.
He
is survived by two brothers, Douglas Laterowicz and Daniel
Laterowicz and his wife Linda, and a nephew, Daniel Laterowicz, Jr.,
all of Ipswich; a niece, Tristan Murray of Georgetown and many
friends. He was the brother of the late Debra Murray formerly of
Ipswich.
His
funeral service will be held Thursday November 5, 10 am graveside in
New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully
welcomed. Visiting hours are Wednesday November 4, 4 to 8 pm in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. In lieu of
flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to the
Ipswich High School Athletic Fund, 134 High Street, Ipswich, MA
01938.
