Donald Graham Gartzke, 78, died quietly at his home in Ipswich,
January 15, 2009. He was born in Oconomowoc, WI to Graham and Della
Gartzke and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He
earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked at his
profession until his death. Donald was an athlete, a devoted
husband, loving father and servant of God.
Don was a man of faith above all else and loved serving in his
hometown church. He
is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karlene Gartzke of Ipswich, two
sons, Dana Gartzke of Manassas, VA and Andrew Gartzke of Wilmington,
OH, four daughters, Kimberly Maples of Wilmington, OH, Heather
Hackett of Stuart, FL, Stephanie Gartzke of Port St. Lucie, FL, Beth
Gifford-English of Ft Lauderdale, FL, and his brother Gary Gartzke
of Austin TX as well as fifteen grandchildren and fourteen
great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am
Jan. 17 at the First Presbyterian Church—North Shore, 179 County
Road, Ipswich. Family and friends respectfully welcomed.
