David Alexander Lang

David Alexander Lang, 39, formerly of Ipswich, died unexpectedly on July 5, 2015 at his Beverly home.

Born in Beverly on April 13, 1976, son of Philip and Susan (Bowman) Lang of Newton Junction, NH, he was a 1991 graduate of Ipswich High School and 1995 graduate of University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in business management. Following his graduation he pursued a career in sales and at the time of his death was employed at Biomedical Sales Consultants.

Dave excelled at everything he did. He was a talented, self-taught musician and gifted singer, mastering drums, guitar and keyboards at an early age. A natural athlete, he was a devoted and patient coach to his sonís lacrosse team. An avid boater, Dave loved the ocean. He loved his many weekends spent at Steep Hill with his family and friends. His quick wit, humor and easy way with people made him an instant success in sales, routinely earning him the award of Salesperson of the Year.

Above all, Daveís favorite and most successful role in life was that of father to his beloved children, Marshall and Gianna, and of uncle to his adoring nephew, Callum. He will be loved and missed by all.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his son, Marshall Bowman Lang, a sixth grade student at the Ipswich Middle School; a daughter, Gianna Moorea Lang, a fifth grade student at the Winthrop School in Ipswich;  a sister, Jennifer Lang and her fiancee Christopher Tillman, a nephew, Callum Tillman, and his former wife and close friend Christine (Gianakakis) Lang, all of Ipswich.

His service will be held at 10 am on Friday, July 10 at the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by interment in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Thursday 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lang Children Educational Fund, c/o First Ipswich Bank, P.O. Box 31, Ipswich, MA 01938.
