Charles T. Wallis

Charles T. Wallis, 76, devoted husband of Louise M. (Harrington) Wallis of River Point Drive, died Thursday June 28, 2018 at home following his long illness.

Charlie was born in Lynn, the son of the late Thomas M. and Ethel L. (Henderson) Wallis, and was raised in Saugus. He proudly served his country in the US Army; Charlie achieving the rank of SP5 focused communication and intelligence. He carried a strong sense of patriotism with him his entire life. Charlie was a graduate of UMASS Amherst Class of 1967. His professional career started at New England Life. A testament to his leadership and loyalty, he completed his career as President and CEO of Back Bay Advisors. Charlie’s greatest sense of pride was his family. He led a full life and cherished his nephews, nieces and close friends.

In addition to his wife of fifty-two years he is survived by a son, Michael C. Wallis and his wife Sheila Dumont; a daughter, Deborah A. Davidson and her husband Michael all of Ipswich; a sister, Louise Lawrence and her husband John of Revere and was also the proud Papa of Hannah, Sarah, Nolan & Tye Wallis and Egan & Rex Davidson. He was the father of the late David T. Wallis formerly of Stoneham.

A Celebration of his Life will be held 11 am Friday, July 6 in the First Church in Ipswich, Meetinghouse Green, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Charles’ name can be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451 and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Memorial Gifts, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
