Caroline T. Hoosick, 89, of
Middleton passed away peacefully on November 30, 2017.
Born in Lawrence, Caroline was the
daughter of the late George E. and Gertrude (Shatz) Maylum. Upon
graduating from high school she landed her first real job as an
operator for the Bell Telephone Company, the only telephone
company in existence back then. Rumor has it that she connected with
her future husband Frederick L. Hoosick of Andover through the
phone. They spent the next sixty-five years together until his
passing one year ago.
Caroline’s legacy can be best
described as a thoughtful, friendly, and authentic care giver. Her
surviving children have many fond memories. Gracious and outgoing,
she could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel
like they had been friends forever. She took the best care of her
kids and grandchildren, not a single day passed in which their needs
went unmet. She will be engraved in their hearts forever.
Caroline is preceded in death by her
husband Frederick Hoosick and son Andrew S. Hoosick. She is survived
by her sons Stephen, Chris and his wife, Laraine, and daughter
Andrea Hoosick and sister in-law Patty and Ben Bronsdon. She is also
survived by her grandchildren, Leah, Ryan, Anna, Ryan, Rachel, and
Haley and great grandson Bryce.
Her family extends a heart felt
thank you to Maureen, Rachel, Sabrina, Tawnya, Odalisa, Mirabel ,
and Yahaira, Caroline’s home care providers who took the greatest
care of her and provided support to the family during this
challenging time.
In keeping with her wishes, Caroline
will be celebrated in a private family memorial at Oakdale Cemetery,
Middleton.
