Blanche Wrobel Maciejowska

Blanche Wrobel Maciejowska, 83, wife of the late Thaddeus (Tadeusza)
Maciejowski, died peacefully Monday December 31, 2007 in her
Ipswich home.
Born August 25, 1924 in Worcester she was the daughter of the late
Vincenzo and Kamila (Malizewska) Wrobel. Raised in Groton and
Manchester-by-the-Sea, she was a graduate of Miss Porter’s School
for Girls and Radcliffe College.
Married 1949 in Boston, the Maciejowskis soon made their home in
Ipswich.
She
enjoyed hooking rugs, sewing and was an avid reader. She was very
active in national politics and was a sustaining member of the
Junior League of Boston.
She
is survived by a son, Peter E. Maciejowski and his wife Suzanne Moss
of Epping, NH, a daughter, Karolina Maciejowska and her husband
Stepen Driesler of Virginia; two sisters Josephine Wrobel of Boca
Raton, FL and Jane Wrobel of Amherst, and a brother Vincenzo Wrobel
of Boylston. She is also survived by her cousins Richard Lysiak of
Manchester-by-the-Sea; and Yvonne Collette Lysiak of Salem; a
sister-in- law Dorothy Maciejowska of Wenham and several cousins,
nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved
cousin Anthony Lysiak formerly of Salem.
Her
funeral service will be held Friday January 4 at 11 am in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich followed by
interment in the New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends
are respectfully welcomed. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions
in her name may be made to the Kosciuszko Foundation, 15 East 65th
Street, NY, NY 10021-6595
