Anne Ballard Hill, 55, of
Sagamore Street, Hamilton, wife of David F. Hill, died Thursday
May 28, 2009 in the Shaughnessy-Kaplan Hospital in Salem,
following injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle accident in
October 2008.
Born in Louisville August 31,
1953, she was the daughter of Martha J. (Stoll) Ballard of
Louisville, KY and the late Everett E. Ballard. She was raised
and educated in Louisville, and received a bachelor’s degree in
art history from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. She
was also a graduate of the American Floral Art School, with a
degree in floristry.
Married in Louisville in 1974,
the Hills lived in Kentucky and Beverly, MA before moving to
Hamilton twenty years ago. She was an active member of the First
Presbyterian Church in Ipswich and involved in many mothers'
groups and home school organizations. She loved spending time
tending her home flower gardens, and enjoyed many travels abroad
with her husband. She also enjoyed spending summers at their
home on Cow Island on Lake Winnipesaukee.
In addition to her husband and
her mother she is survived by a son, Peter B. Hill and his wife
Allison of Columbus, OH, a daughter, Emily A. Fauble and her
husband Christopher of Ipswich, and her grandchildren, Dakota,
Cassandra and Luke Fauble of Ipswich. She is also survived by a
brother, John H. Ballard of Louisville, a sister, Elizabeth
Crawford of Columbus, OH and numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins. She was the sister of the late Jeanne Ballard, formerly
of Louisville.
Her funeral service will be
held Monday June 1, at noon, graveside in the New Highland
Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich, followed by a 1 p.m. service
in the First Presbyterian Church, 179 County Road, Ipswich.
Family and friends respectfully welcomed. Arrangements by the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. Memorial contributions
in her name may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Ipswich,
and a portion of any donations will go to the church flower
fund.
