Alice
B. (Pfeifer) McKinney, 77, of Eagle Hill Road, longtime
companion of the late Lawrence Lane formerly of Peabody, died
Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in the Beverly Hospital following
her brief illness.
Born
in Newton June 20, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Albert
and Margaret (McDonald) Pfeifer. Alice raised five children,
most of these years as a single mom. For more than fifteen
years she was the co-owner of the Wagon Wheels formerly of Rt. 1
in Rowley. She led an active life and throughout the years was a
hard worker, working up to the age of seventy-one. Her dream
was fulfilled when she moved to her Eagle Hill home with an
ocean view and from where she enjoyed boating.
She
will be remembered as an incredible mother, a wonderful cook,
and a loving caregiver to her late parents and companion Larry.
Alice
is survived by two sons, Daniel L. McKinney and his wife Debra
of Seabrook, NH, Douglas E. McKinney of Seattle, WA; three
daughters, Patricia McKinney of Miami, FL, Elizabeth A. Poole of
Hamilton, Christine J. Warren of Ipswich; twelve grandchildren;
three brothers, John F. Pfeifer, Donald J. Pfeifer, Edward M.
Pfeifer; a sister, Mary G. Pellegrino and many nephews and
nieces.
A
Celebration of her Life will be held from 1 to 3 pm Sunday,
February 8 in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St.,
Ipswich. Family and friends are
respectfully welcomed. Memorial contributions in her name may
